Heppenheimer Freibad (open-air swimming pool)

Opened in 1931, the open-air swimming pool has been modernised and extended several times in recent years. Today, the swimming pool can boast state-of-the-art technology and steel swimming pools. Despite all the renovation work, the pool complex has still retained the unique character it exuded right from the time it first opened.

Built on an area covering some 15,000 m², the heated open-air pool in Heppenheim offers a 50-metre swimming pool, a non-swimmers’ pool with slide, teaching pool with a 25-metre slide and a babies’ and kiddies’ paddling pool.

Sunbathing areas, climbing frames, table-tennis tables and a ball court ensure that there are plenty of options for leisure activities out of the water too.

A kiosk in the swimming pool complex offers visitors light meals, snacks and refreshments if required. Sunny seating areas tempt the visitor to linger awhile.
