The name Festspiele Heppenheim, Heppenheim’s theatre festival, is virtually synonymous with the most successful private theatre event in Germany. Every day from mid-July to the beginning of September, director Thomas Richter stages the Festspiele programme against the magnificent backdrop of the Kurmainzer Amtshof villa, which was formerly the tithe house of the Elector of Mainz.
